Releasing a version
In the Sketch plugin menu, select ‘Release a Version…’
Fill out a version name and description and click ‘Create’:
What the rest of the team sees when you release a version
When you release a new version, team members currently working with the design library will see an alert notifying them that the library has been updated to a new version. The updated assets and styles are available to use immediately. No manual opt-in or download is required.
Switching between versions
Team members can switch versions from the Sketch plugin menu:
To see the version history, choose ‘Version History…’ from the plugin menu.
You’ll see a list of versions, each with release notes and change summary.
To see what changed between two versions, in the Version History page, select a version and click Compare with previous version >
You’ll see a list of the assets that were added, removed, and changed.
To see a ‘before and after’ side-by-side comparison of a changed item, click ‘More Details’ on an item that changed.
If you’re having a hard time noticing the differences, you can click ‘Highlight Changes’ to see highlights of the differences between the two images.
Editing in Draft Mode
Brand.ai members include Editors, and non-editors. As an editor, changes you make are immediately available to all other editors in a Shared Draft version (aka working copy). There’s one shared draft that all editors of a library are working with and editing together.
When an editor releases a new version, Brand.ai captures a snapshot of the Shared Draft, and makes it available to all team members as a new version.
